Month: April 2017

Shooting 73, 71, 75, 75 Issy has finished with a +2 and 5th overall at the Aussie Girls’ Amateur. The standout Queensland player, Issy competed against Australia’s top juniors at the Port Kembla course all vying for the coveted title.

What a difference a year makes… In 2016 Issy travelled with Golf Queensland as a development player to the Aussie Juniors and finished T20. This year the 16 year old is Captain of the Queensland Girls team and proving that she’s a top pick for representative golf also being selected for the Queensland Women’s Team to play in WA in May.

Goes without saying I’m a very proud coach! As Issy balances her year 11 academic workload with her golf, my focus is to continue to improve Issy’s game by combining technique with golf fitness gym sessions and help with mental strength so she can make good decisions under any playing conditions.

Starting tomorrow the Queensland team will compete in the Girls’ Interstate Teams event which is a series of Matchplay rounds. Having made the Matchplay quarterfinals at the recent 2017 NSW Amateur I know Issy will bring her best golf to lead the Queensland team. Go Issy keep up the effort.
