Issy Taylor – Success at the Women’s Interstate Series

Playing in her first Women’s Interstate Series, rookie 16-year old Issy Taylor from Sanctuary Cove has brought home 4 wins for the Queensland Women’s Team at Royal Freemantle.

Playing in #3 position Issy was up against older and more experienced players making her winning results of 7&6, 6&5, 5&4 and 1 up even more impressive. Her first time in the west, Issy also had to quickly adapt to the fast greens and cooler conditions. Her last round, played against Doey Choi from NSW, was tough with Doey holding on to win 2&1 but that didn’t stop them enjoying the round and making the most of a great day’s golf. Issy’s wins earned valuable points for Queensland which finished 4th overall.

Next stop for Issy is the Singapore Junior Championship 5-8 June. Being played at Seletar Country Club Issy will once again have to quickly adapt as this will be only her second international tournament but after a solid week at the interstate series we know this young rookie player has got what it takes. Go Issy!
